i was first introduced to the technique of stacking a few years ago when a student of mine presented a project of stacked hand dyed fabrics and papers along with other found materials. i remember being struck by how simple the act of stacking and how one would think that when materials are stacked, they are somehow obscured, yet more about the material was revealed and appreciated by just the viewing the edges as each juxtaposed material informed the next...see more here.
